Wat Si Chum is well known for a large sitting Buddha image, Phra Achana, measuring 15 meters high and 11 meters wide. It is enshrined in a small roofless mondop and occupies almost the whole space.

Wat Sa Si  Its location on a small island in the middle of the lotus flowers filled pond makes it one of the most attractive sites of the Sukhothai Historical Park. This small temple consists of a principal chedi, another smaller chedi, a vihara, an ubosot and a Sukhothai style walking Buddha image. The main chedi, a well preserved bell shaped chedi in Singhalese style is set on a square base.

The Si Satchanalai Historical Park is located in Si Satchanalai District, Sukhothai Province. Si Satchanalai was founded in 1250 as the second center of Sukhothai Kingdom and a residence of the crown prince in the 13th and 14th centuries. In the 16th century, a 5-metre high wall with an upstream moat was built to fend off the growing Burmese attacks.

Si Satchanalai was also an important producer of glazed ceramics called Sangkhalok wares which were exported throughout Asian countries. The city’s riverside location was important for the development of its ceramic industry. Among the remains of the 19 ruins inside the city wall, highlights are Wat Chang Lom, Wat Chedi Chet Thaew and Wat Nang Phaya.
