There are replicas of important places in the life of the Buddha, e.g. the places where he was born, where he attained enlightenment and where he reached nirvana. The park, with a great number of shady trees, features artificial lakes which contains lots of fish, and a botanical garden, part of which are plants that are mentioned in Buddhist history.

Another outstanding feature of Phuttha Monthon Park is Utthayan Road, the 3.8 km road leading to the front gate of the park. It is magnificently lined with over 700 lamps, each adorned at the top of the post with the golden figure of the mythical bird called hansa. One will have a more splendid view of the road if coming at night when all lamps are turned on.
