Area A : Main sightseeing spots |
|
Area
A covers a slightly larger area than the map of Rattanakosin
Island. However, it is easier to find sightseeing
spots on the map
of Rattanakosin Island than the map of Area A.
Therefore, for those who aim at sightseeing, the
map of Rattanakosin Island is the better alternative.
And as sightseeing spots are concentrated in this
area, walking
tours are a popular activity among tourists.
The Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew)
and the Grand Palace, the two most visited places
in Thailand, are also situated in this area.

Area
B, also covering Area A, is where sightseeing spots
as well as the main business, shopping and entertainment
places are located, including Silom, Sathon, Sukhumvit,
etc. Thus, the area is popular among tourists and business
people alike. You can go through the links provided
at the top of this page for details of a specific area.

Area C - including Suvarnabhumi Airport area |
|
The
Area C covers the maps of Areas A and B as well as
the remaining area of Bangkok Metropolis. Although
area C is of less interest to tourists, it shows
the greater Bangkok as a whole. The Rama III Road
area, a new route where tourist accommodations are
mushrooming, was added to our 2005 edition.
In addition, in our most recent 2006 edition,
the area of the new Suvarnabhumi Airport and Bangna,
which are generally not included in tourist maps,
has been included.
