-- central, north, north-eastern and south.
At each house, you will meet people dressed traditionally
according to their region. Besides, each house features outstanding
local culture. For example, at the central house, there is
a boat with a rower to take you along the criss-crossing canal.
And at the north-eastern house, the weaving process is demonstrated.
Please contact Siam Niramit for more information and reservations.

A khon performance at
Sala Chalermkrung |
Sala Chalermkrung Royal Theatre
Charoenkrung Road, Old Town
This is the first theatre in Southeast Asia to have an air-conditioning
system and was the most modern and largest one at its opening
time. King Prajadhipok (Rama VII, 1925-1935) who was fond
of films, gave an amount of money from his privy purse to
construct the theatre. Renovated in 1992, it is now a place
for cultural performances like
khon, the traditional
Thai masked drama, and retro-concerts.

What attracts people's interest is the united smooth movements
of the puppets, which must be credited to the puppeteers.
