This wooded route northwest of Chiang Mai is dotted with tourist development sites -- resorts, orchid and butterfly farms, elephant camps, snake farms and antique and handicraft shops. Some interesting ones are:

Orchid & Butterfly Farms
There are quite a number of such farms along this route. Many orchid farms also have butterfly enclosures setting in natural environment.

Resorts
There are several scenic resorts by the hillsides or in the valleys where hundreds of species of exotic flowers and plants are grown and elaborately arranged. Most of them provide accommodations for nature lovers.
