Thailand is now operating two
airports in and just outside Bangkok. Suvarnabhumi
is the newly opened airport, located in Samut Prakan
Province. Airport codes for Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang
are BKK and DMK, respectively.
Passengers who have to connect their flights between
Suvarnabhumi and Don Muang Airports, should allow at
least 50 minutes to travel (it can be 1-2 hours depending
on traffic). The distance between the two airports
is about 40 km by using the expressway. The metered
taxi will cost around 400-500 baht (depending on traffic),
including expressway tolls and 50 baht surcharge on the meter.

Suvarnabhumi Airport covers an approximate area of 32
sq.km. Located at Km.15 on the east-bound Bangna-Trat
Highway in Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan Province.
It is about 29 km. from Bangkok's downtown. All international
flights (arrivals and departures) and some domestic flights
are operated here.
At the initial phase of service provision, the north
section of this newly opened airport will be able to
accommodate 45 million passengers per year, 76 flights
per hour and 3 million tons of cargo handling per year.
Suvarnabhumi Airport Rail Link

Suvarnabhumi Airport Rail Link provides direct rail services to and from Suvarnabhumi Airport. Suvarnabhumi Station is an underground station, part of which is located under Suvarnabhumi Airport Terminal. Owned by the State Railway of Thailand (SRT), both SA Express Service and SA City Line are operated on the same tracks at speeds of up to 160 km/hr.
SA Express Service: Suvarnabhumi Airport – Makkasan (City Air Terminal, interchange with MRT Phetchaburi Station)
SA Express is a 15-minute non-stop ride with a flat fare of 150 baht. It runs between 06.00 and 24.00 hrs. Each train has 3 passenger coaches, a seating capacity of 170, and one luggage coach. At Makkasan Station, passengers can check-in at check-in counters and load their luggage to the train, which also provides the convenient transfer to various airlines.

SA City Line Service: Suvarnabhumi Airport – Lat Krabang – Ban Thap Chang – Hua Mak – Ramkhamhaeng – Makkasan – Ratcahprarop – Phaya Thai (interchange with BTS Phaya Thai Station)
SA City Line is a 30-minute commuter trip which operates between Suvarnabhumi Airport and Phaya Thai Station. There are 8 stops including the terminal stations. Services are available from 06.00 to 24.00 hrs and the fares start from 15 to 45 baht. The train has 3 passenger coaches with a capacity of 745 passengers.
The Public Transportation Centre of the airport is located
near the Bangkok Catering Company Building about 5 min.

cars and express buses. One can get to the centre from
the terminals via a shuttle bus.

4. Shuttle Bus Service
Free shuttle bus service is provided for passengers.
Express route connects the main terminal directly to
the transport center. Ordinary route connects to other
airport facilities.
5. Limousine
To get a limousine, contact the “Limousine Service Counter” at the Arrivals Level (2nd floor).
6. Metered Taxis
Metered taxis are available outside the exit
on the 1st floor. Passengers can
also take a shuttle bus to the transportation center
which has more taxis. There is a 50 baht surcharge on
the meter. The trips to the city will cost 300 –
400 baht (plus highway tolls) and take 40 – 60
min. depending on traffic.
